THE STATE OF THINGS
The Brehm Memorial Center has been under renovation for six years now. However, the exhibition and the collection are always open to visitors and groups, as they are housed in the historic parsonage during the renovation work. Guided tours are possible at any time, for groups of visitors and school classes after telephone registration (036426 22233) also outside the opening hours.
The renovation work in the house and in the rebuilt historic grounds will be completed in the autumn of 2019.

Hostels, Guesthouses and Nearby Restaurants
Travel by train to the trainstation "Hermsdorf" or "Stadtroda". From there, you can take the bus number 427, departing from both train stations. Alight in Renthendorf and follow the road until you arrive at the Brehm Memorial Center!
...and by local public transport:
Close to the Brehm Memorial Center there is a youth hostel for one or multiple night stays. Because of the limited number of beds (34 in 8 rooms), previous reservation is necessary! For further information please contact the staff of the hostel directly.
Renthendorf is also one station of the Tälerpilgerweg, a pilgrims path in Thuringia. For pilgrims there is an opportunity for overnight stays in the chapel house. Please contact the church community of Renthendorf prior to your stay!
For food and drink we would like to recommend the "Gute Stube" in Erdmannsdorf, the restaurant "Zum Löwen" in Kleinebersdorf and the Riedel-Mühle in Schönborn. There, only a few minutes by car, you will find lots of regional specialities.
